This time, we introduce a refreshing drink from Ryusen Distillery in Okinawa, made with exotic hibiscus and Okinawan shikuwasa (citrus depressa). With their light and invigorating taste, these two KAFU liqueurs are perfect for welcoming the heat of summer!
“KAFU” (カフー) means “good fortune” in the Okinawan dialect. Just holding these bottles, with their bright and stylish appearance, fills you with a sense of happiness.
Okinawan shikuwasa is known for its high acidity and extremely high vitamin C content, and is even believed to help prevent dementia. It is one of Okinawa’s most iconic fruits. Tasting it: the aroma is a straightforward citrusy lemon scent; on the palate, it’s incredibly refreshing, with subtle citrus notes gradually giving way to a lingering zest from the shikuwasa peel.
