Apple wine is common, but one with a rich, woody aroma is almost unheard of. One reason is the complicated brewing process and the extremely high raw material costs — something most producers would not dare to attempt.

This creation first matures distilled apple spirit in whisky barrels for six months, allowing the cask’s woodiness to bring out the sweetness of the apple spirit. The barrels are no afterthought — they come from Mars, Japan’s third-largest whisky distillery. After maturation, the spirit is blended with the flesh and juice of two premium apple varieties — “Fuji” and “Shinano Gold” — and then aged in the casks for another six months before bottling.

In the glass, the aroma bursts with distinct woody notes, followed by the sweet scent of fully ripe apples. On the palate, the wood flavour takes the lead, with luscious apple sweetness emerging afterwards. Overall, it’s very easy to drink. Over ice, the chilled liquid becomes elegantly balanced, with wood and apple aromas refined, and the sweetness reduced to just the right level. After a few generous sips, the gentle warmth of its 17% ABV flushes your cheeks. This is a grown-up apple wine that sits between fruit wine and spirit — perfect for leisurely chats with friends.

Mixed 1:1 with soda water, the wood and apple aromas remain vivid, while the sweetness drops sharply and a refreshing sensation doubles — an elegant sparkling drink for summer with layers of flavour.
