Crafted by Yuasa Winery in Wakayama, this sparkling umeshu is made using 100% Nanko plums, Japan’s most famous premium plum variety.
Its most distinctive feature lies in the addition of the winery’s own white wine into the umeshu blend. The acidity from the white wine beautifully shapes and sharpens the plum flavors, creating a far more layered and refined drinking experience.

On the nose, the aroma of Nanko plum resembles ripe peaches, carrying a lively and refreshing acidity.
The bubbles are delicate and gentle on the palate, revealing honey-like sweetness at first sip. As the carbonation slowly fades, the acidity of the white wine gradually intertwines with the plum flavors, leading into a long and elegant finish.
The balance between sweetness and acidity is exceptionally well executed, making this a dangerously drinkable bottle that keeps you reaching for another glass.
The producer, Yuasa Winery, is one of Wakayama’s rare local wineries. Since beginning grape cultivation in 2014, the winery has spent over a decade refining its craft, now specializing in wines made from indigenous Wakayama grape varieties.
At the same time, they have cleverly embraced Wakayama’s most famous local produce — Nanko plums — combining them with their own wines to create a range of remarkably high-quality umeshu.
