TRY DRINKING IT NEAT FIRST. AT FIRST, THERE IS A SOFT PEAT AROMA, FOLLOWED BY THE SIGNATURE GRAPEFRUIT AND CITRUS SWEETNESS OF JI MEI. THE PEAT FLAVOR AND JI MEI'S ORIGINAL AROMA BLEND IN A SURPRISINGLY HARMONIOUS WAY. THE MOUTHFEEL IS SOFT UPON ENTRY, WITH GRAPEFRUIT, GINGER, AND MINT FLAVORS, AND A DISTINCT SMOKY PEAT FLAVOR EMERGES IN THE MID-PALATE, CONTINUING WITH VARIOUS HERBAL NOTES THROUGHOUT THE LONG FINISH.
The official recommended ways to drink include neat, on the rocks, and highball, surprisingly without Gin Tonic. Being a disobedient guy by nature, I immediately tried making a Gin Tonic and then understood the reason for its lack of recommendation... The sweetness of the tonic clashes with the peat flavor, making it hard to blend. If you are keen on Gin Tonic, this version might not be suitable for you.
However, if you like peated whisky and have the habit of drinking Gin on the rocks or neat, you must not miss this excellent product!
