"Kazutan" is an experimental work launched in 2015. Honpo Shuzo specially toasted the insides of a batch of brand-new oak barrels with fierce fire, and placed blended whisky in them for a 5-month Finish to obtain a unique smoky flavor. The market response upon its release was very good, and it was sold out within a few days.
After nearly 4 years, Honpo Shuzo has finally collaborated with the Japanese liquor chain Liquor Mountain to launch the second installment of "Hibachi." The new product is no longer a blended whisky but a 100% pure malt whisky blended with Shinshu and Scottish malt whiskies.
The faint aroma of wheat and preserved fruits, without a hint of aggressiveness. When you drink it, the smoothness of the body continues the fragrance. While pondering the origin of the cask name, the peat smoke emerges faintly among the fruity aromas, concluding with a touch of charred wood aftertaste. It is a very restrained peat whisky.
