For the second release, Nagahama has collaborated with Akashi from Kobe this time, using Nagahama's bourbon barrel original spirits, combined with Akashi's lightly peated whisky, and further blended with Suze. AS THE WINE ENTERS THE GLASS, THE FIRST SCENT TO WAFT INTO THE NASAL CAVITY IS THE FRESH CITRUS PEEL AROMA OF GRAPEFRUIT, WITH A HINT OF FRUIT ACIDITY AS A GARNISH BEHIND THE SWEETNESS. UPON DEEPER INHALATION, MINT AND PEAT EMERGE, CREATING AN INTERESTING VARIATION IN FRAGRANCE. THE FRESH GRAPEFRUIT AROMA LINGERS UPON TASTING, ACCOMPANIED BY MORE RIPE APPLES, STRAWBERRIES, AND A TOUCH OF ORANGE SWEETNESS, FOLLOWED BY THE APPEARANCE OF MINT AND VANILLA. AMIDST THE REFRESHING FRAGRANCE, THE FLAVOR TRANSITIONS INTO A GENTLE PEATINESS, CONCLUDING THIS GUSTATORY JOURNEY SOFTLY AND COMFORTABLY.
IN TERMS OF THE WINE LABEL, THERE IS A LOT OF THOUGHT PUT INTO IT. AT FIRST GLANCE, IT JUST LOOKS LIKE TWO STORKS FLYING AROUND LAKE BIWA, A FAMOUS SPOT IN SHIGA PREFECTURE. HOWEVER, UPON CLOSER INSPECTION OF THE LAKE ON THE LABEL, ONE CAN DISCOVER THE IMAGE OF A WOODEN WHITE BUILDING HIDDEN INSIDE THE WINE CASK, WHICH IS THE EIJIMA DISTILLERY, A PARTNER OF NAGAHAMA IN THIS COLLABORATION. NAGAHAMA PAYS TRIBUTE TO ITS PARTNER WITH THIS, AND IT IS BOTH BEAUTIFUL AND THOUGHTFUL, WORTHY OF BEING PICKED UP AND FIDDLED WITH.
