The hallmark of premium black tea lies in the harvest — the “One Bud, Two Leaves” method.
“The Bud” is the newly sprouted tip of the tea plant, while “Two Leaves” are the tender leaves just beneath it.
Since machines still struggle to distinguish these delicate young shoots, each must be carefully hand-picked, making this tea both labor-intensive and exquisite in flavor.
Yo no Kocha (宵之紅茶) uses hand-harvested Okinawan black tea leaves from the “One Bud, Two Leaves” selection as its base.
The spirit foundation comes from Zuisen Distillery, a historic awamori producer in Okinawa with over a century of craftsmanship.
If you’ve ever wanted to taste a truly high-quality tea liqueur — this is the one.
Founded in 1887, Zuisen spent over four years experimenting with more than 100 prototypes before finalizing this blend.
Through their long history of awamori brewing, they discovered that the delicate bitterness and aroma of black tea harmonize beautifully with awamori’s clean, mellow sweetness.
On the nose, refined Earl Grey-like aromas rise gently — elegant, fragrant, and soothing.
The palate opens with a hint of natural cane sweetness, followed by a rich yet clean black tea profile.
The awamori adds a subtle wooden smoothness, while the finish lingers with delicate astringency and almost no alcohol heat.
This liqueur also makes a perfect base for creative cocktails.
Try mixing it 1:1 with milk for an instant milk tea liqueur that’s smooth, aromatic, and only mildly sweet — a grown-up twist on Hong Kong–style milk tea.
It also pairs beautifully with soda, apple juice, or orange juice.
A sincere, well-crafted creation from ingredient to flavor — refined yet approachable.
