DAIREN SHUZO IS LOCATED IN MEI CITY, SURROUNDED BY MOUNTAINS IN THE CENTER OF YAMAGUCHI PREFECTURE, JAPAN. IT IS A SAKE BREWERY THAT RESUMED OPERATIONS IN 2010 AMID APPLAUSE AFTER A HALF-CENTURY OF REST, AND IS WELL-LOVED AND RECOGNIZED BY MICHELIN-STARRED RESTAURANTS AND LUXURY PRODUCT LAUNCHES.

Mr. Tsuyoshi Akiyama, born in Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, as a young generation sake brewer, is of course concerned with more than just the sake itself. He invited the Stockholm Design Lab, a design studio in Sweden, to design the bottle. The design features a minimalist black-and-white theme, reflecting that traditional sake labels are usually a combination of washi paper and brush calligraphy. However, for foreign consumers, kanji characters are not recognizable, so corners are cut and one to five grains of rice are used to distinguish: Junmai Daiginjo JMDG, Junmai Ginjo JMG, Junmai JM, and Non-Specification Japanese Sake.

ALL SAKE PRODUCED BY OOMINE SAKE BREWERY IS BREWED WITH THE HIGHEST-GRADE SAKE RICE FROM YAMAGUCHI PREFECTURE AND "BENTEN WATER." THE RAW RICE USED IS 100% "YAMADANISHIKI" CULTIVATED BY LOCAL FARMERS, WITH A POLISHING RATIO OF UP TO THE HIGHEST GRADE OF 50%. ADDITIONALLY, BEING FULLY HANDCRAFTED, IT IS AN ENTRY-LEVEL SAKE WELL WORTH PURCHASING. THE 14.5% LOW-ALCOHOL PURE SAKE ALLOWS YOU TO EASILY ENJOY THE PRODUCTS OF A HIGH-LEVEL BREWERY.

THIS WINE'S AROMA FEATURES THE SWEET AND SOUR FRAGRANCE OF MUSCAT GRAPES AND APPLES, WITH A SLIGHT RELEASE IN THE MOUTH THAT CARRIES A SWEET AND JUICY WATERINESS SIMILAR TO CANTALOUPE. THE TEXTURE IS VERY SMOOTH, AND IT PAIRS PERFECTLY WITH WHITE-FLESHED FISH SASHIMI!

設計品味滿溢 - 大嶺酒造

大嶺酒造成立於1822年,在1955年倒閉後,超過50年的時間都是荒廢狀態。直至2010年,年輕的秋山剛志,在紐約從事設計工作超過6年後,回到其家鄉接手營運大嶺酒造,從此酒造煥然一新。
其時,大嶺只能租用其他酒造的房間釀酒,經營狀況刻苦。但秋山找到了瑞典的設計工作室 Stockholm Design Lab,為大嶺操刀設計了一款劃時代的清酒酒瓶,此酒瓶以陶瓷樽身,配上令全世界都能極易理解及入腦的「幾粒米」圖案,簡約得黎潮盡市場,從此大嶺的酒款每每都是一出即斷市。
不只酒瓶,大嶺在2018年開設的自家新酒廠,其外型就如Apple Store 般簡潔而型仔。連員工的工作服,也要與North Face 合作設計,再睇埋酒造的釀酒桶,也是要純白簡約的設計。只能說,未喝酒,已給酒造滿滿的設計品味俘虜了。
